Companion

Adopt a companion that grows as you care for it, just by tracking.

Companion is a gentle, optional game layer on top of your tracking, and it’s free on every plan. You choose a companion, name it, and care for it simply by doing the things you already do: logging your day, weighing in, taking your shots on time, hitting your protein floor, moving your body. It’s designed to make showing up feel good, and it never shames you.

How you earn Glimmers

Every qualifying self-care action earns Glimmers (the companion’s currency) once per day. There is no daily cap: a fully logged day simply pays more. On-time shots and consistency pay the most.

  • Logging a daily entry, weighing in, taking a blood-pressure reading, and logging food or water.
  • Hitting your daily protein floor: a target to reach, never a limit to stay under.
  • Logging a shot, noting how you feel, logging a workout, or recording a non-scale victory.

The Care tab only lists the things your plan lets you log, so nothing on it is a dead end. If some earners come with a bigger plan (food and water, workouts, non-scale victories), you will see a single line under the list telling you what an upgrade would add.

Nothing here rewards eating less, a faster loss, or a lower number on the scale. Rewards are for showing up and logging, which is separate from how the scale moves.

Growing up

Your companion advances through four life stages on the number of days you care for it, never on your weight. Stages are permanent: a missed day never sets you back.

Collect all three

There are three companions to collect: the Firefly, the Axolotl and the Otter. You pick whichever one you like as your free starter, and the other two can be adopted later with saved-up Glimmers on the Collection tab, as a long-term goal. Each keeps its own name, stage and wardrobe, and you can switch which one is active any time.

Adventures

Once you’ve cared for your companion on a given day, you can send them off on an adventure: and you choose how far they go. A Stroll takes about ten minutes, an Amble an hour, a Journey three hours, and an Expedition six. Grown companions make the same trips faster.

How long they’re gone decides what they can bring back. Short trips return Glimmers. A Journey can also bring home a keepsake. Only an Expedition can turn up an actual shop item, a wearable, a glow or a habitat, so rarity is something you choose to wait for rather than something you re-roll for.

How many trips you get in a day comes from your logging: one for each different thing you track that day, with each meal counting on its own. Log more, explore more. It’s a gentle reason to check back in later, never a nag, and completely optional.

What did my companion actually bring me, and where did it go?

The message on the Care tab says which kind of thing it was and links straight to it. Keepsakes go to the shelf on the Collection tab; wearables and glows go to your Wardrobe; habitats go to the Habitat tab, ready to use for free.

Streaks & freezes

Keep a logging streak going for bonus milestones. A streak-freeze automatically protects a single missed day, so one off day never breaks your run. Your companion just has a cozy rest.

The shop & wardrobe

Spend Glimmers in the Shop on hats, glow colors and habitats, then dress your companion in the Wardrobe. Money never buys Glimmers or items. You earn everything by caring for your companion. Signature items are earned at milestones, not bought.

Sharing your companion

The Share button makes a little Tirzing-branded card of your companion in its habitat, wearing its cosmetics. Save it as a JPG still, or as an animated GIF that captures the movement, and post it wherever you like. On a phone you can also share it straight to another app.

Achievements

The Achievements tab collects dozens of milestones, each paying a Glimmers bonus. Some are for consistency (care days, stages, streaks), but plenty are just for fun: completing a themed wardrobe, owning every habitat, adopting all three companions, coming home from a hundred adventures, or saying hi to your companion a thousand times. A few are only unlocked by wearing something particularly silly.

Weekly quests

The Care tab shows three weekly quests that refresh every Monday, like "log your day on 5 days" or "hit your protein floor 4 times". They’re drawn from the tracking you already do; finish one and its Glimmers bonus is credited automatically, no button to press.

Your welcome gift

You don’t start with nothing. The first time you open your companion, they turn up with a keepsake for your shelf and a hat for your wardrobe, free, before you’ve sent them anywhere. It’s a one-off, and it’s there so the Collection and Wardrobe tabs have something in them from your very first day. If you already had a companion before this arrived, it’s waiting for you the next time you open their page.

Keepsake shelf

Longer adventures bring home a little keepsake. They live on a shelf on the Collection tab and are kept forever, so exploring always leaves something behind. There are dozens to find in the everyday pool, plus one that belongs to each week of the year.

The shelf has twelve slots, and what you put in them is what appears in your companion’s picture. Underneath it is a row called “In your collection, not on the shelf”: everything else you have found. Drag anything from that row up onto a slot to display it, or just tap it to drop it into the first free slot.

You can also drag between slots to reorder them, or tap a slot to pick from the full list. New finds go up on their own while there is room. Taking something off the shelf simply moves it back down to the row below, so nothing you have found is ever lost.

My shelf is full. How do I display something new?

Drag the new one straight onto whichever slot you want it in. Whatever was in that slot moves down to the “not on the shelf” row, and you can put it back any time.

Commemoratives

Some weeks are big weeks, and those offer a commemorative in the Shop: a signature piece for your companion to wear. It is on sale during that week only, so owning one quietly marks when you were here. Once it is yours it stays in your Wardrobe for good, and it can never be found on an adventure.

Seasonal habitats and colors

Every season brings its own habitat and glow color to the Shop, and the festive weeks bring extra ones: a haunted hollow for October, holiday lights for December and a sweetheart garden in early February, alongside spring, summer, autumn and winter. They are on sale only while their season lasts, under Limited time in the Shop, and a card on the Care tab says what is in and how long it has left.

Anything seasonal you pick up is yours for good, so you can keep the pumpkins out in July if you like. If you miss one, it comes back when its season comes round next year. A long adventure can also turn up a seasonal piece, but only while that season is on.

Why can’t I find last season’s habitat in the Shop?

Seasonal pieces leave the Shop when their season ends and return the next time it comes round. If you bought one, it is still in your Habitat tab or Wardrobe, ready to use any time of year.

My companion found a cosmetic, but it isn’t on the keepsake shelf.

That’s expected: a cosmetic find is a real item, not a keepsake. Wearables and glows go to your Wardrobe, and habitats (like Coral Reef) go to the Habitat tab, ready to equip for free. The keepsake shelf only holds the little flavour trinkets, like a smooth river pebble. The discovery message tells you which kind you got and links straight to it.

Earning Glimmers

There is no daily limit. Every different thing you log pays, each meal counts separately from the others, and the figure on the Care tab is simply a running total for the day: there’s no target to hit and nothing to fall short of.

Nothing here is scored on how your week is going. A difficult week pays exactly what a good one does, because the rewards are for showing up and keeping track, never for the numbers themselves.

Do I have to use it?

No. Companion is a completely optional layer. Your tracking, insights and reminders work exactly the same whether you adopt one or not.
