Your story

Your journey as a story you can swipe through and share, with a new chapter at every milestone.

Your story turns what you have logged into a set of cards you swipe through, like a recap: how far you have come, the habits that got you here, and the milestones along the way. Open it from Progress → Your story.

What the cards show

Each card appears only when your own logs have something to say, so your story grows as you track. Depending on what you log and your plan, it can include:

  • When you started and how many days you have been on your journey.
  • Your weight: where you started, where you are now, the change, how many weigh-ins you logged, and a little line of your weekly averages.
  • What that change weighs the same as (house cats, bowling balls and so on).
  • Your biggest week, measured on weekly averages so one morning never tells the whole story.
  • How many shots you have logged, and which medications.
  • The protein and water you logged, each with a fun comparison, and your most-logged food.
  • How many days you logged and your longest streak.
  • Your workouts and minutes of movement, your non-scale victories, and your companion.

Weights are always exactly what you logged. Your story never shows cycle details, side effects, blood pressure, blood sugar, photos or doses.

Moving through it

  • Tap the right side (or swipe left) for the next card, and the left side (or swipe right) to go back.
  • Press and hold to pause, or use the pause button. Cards move on by themselves otherwise.
  • On a computer, the arrow keys move between cards, the space bar pauses and Esc closes.
  • Swipe down or tap ✕ to close.

Chapters

Every milestone opens a new chapter: each 10 lb (or 5 kg) down, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of your starting weight, halfway to your goal and reaching it (when you have a goal set), 50, 100, 150 and 200 shots, each anniversary of your first shot, and 100 and 365 days logged. A chapter tells your story up to the day you reached it.

When a new chapter opens, a banner at the top of your Dashboard lets you know. Tap See your story to play it, or ✕ to hide the banner until your next chapter. Every chapter stays on the Your story page to replay any time.

When you first get Your story, the same banner introduces it, and if you have already reached a milestone it starts there. It goes away once you open Your story or tap ✕.

The first time you open Your story, the milestones you had already reached are tucked into your chapter list rather than all announced at once, and only the most recent one is shown as new. The same happens when older milestones turn up later, for example after you import your history.

Year in review

From December 1 to January 31 there is also a story of your year, from January to December, with a few cards of its own: then and now, your top foods, your most consistent month, your type and your companion’s year. It comes back every December with a new year. See Your year in review for more.

Sharing a card

  1. Tap Share this card on any card.
  2. Choose how your weight appears on the image: Numbers, Percentage or Hidden. Cards that stand for an amount can’t be shared as a percentage, because the amount and the percentage together would give your weight away: a chapter like “10 lb down” shares with Numbers or Hidden, and the “equivalent of” card with Numbers only. Medication names are left off unless you tick them on.
  3. Tap Create share image. On a phone, Share image opens your share sheet, so you can post it straight to your stories. You can also download it or copy a link.

Anyone with the link can see the image, and it is kept out of search engines. Every image you share is listed under Profile → Your data → Shared images, where Stop sharing deletes it and turns its link off. Copies someone already saved can’t be recalled. Deleting your account deletes them too.
